Parish  Council Minutes 3.12.07.

 A meeting of the Parish Council was held in the village hall on  3.12.07. Apologies for absence received from Mrs. P Davies.

 

There were no  declarations of interest.

 

The minutes of the meeting had been previously circulated and were taken as read and signed by the Chairman.

 

Matters Arising…

 

The housing survey had been received –this would be discussed at  the next meeting of the Parish Council...Work had successfully been done on the cleaning of the river river ,silt  e.t.c. had been removed satisfactorily.

 

Planning Matters….

 

The application for an extension to Marrs X.and the Club at  Warden Hill.. were being circulated . Nothing had been heard regarding the Tithe Barn,Two appeals had been lodged ,One for the permission of signs at the A.37.the  other for siting of a mobile home at Upper Sydling –Mr, and Mrs.Newberry

 

Mrs Romy Barton gave an update on the progress with the Play Area and the application for funding  .£1000.had been received from the S.E.B.   £3000. donation and the remainder as a result of the bonfire, fete-helium balloons. e.t.c. A balance of£4593 was noted .The Parish Council agreed the constitution . The Play Area was inspected weekly.

 

Financial Matters.

 

Each Parish Councillor was given an update /statement on the Parish Councils present finances It was noted that there was a further £500. to pay towards the upkeep of X tree .Mr Legg would enquire of Mr. B. Downe –re the longevity of the tree, as some members were concerned regarding the expense. Mr Ron Martin would inspect the trees in the village. It was decided to precept for £4750.proposed by Mr R Blackmore, seconded by Mrs C Fowler,carried unanimously.

 

The Risk Assessment  was discussed –a copy was held by each Parish Council Member . X tree would be inspected twice a year . Each mower operative had a separate risk assessment copy. The Play Area committee constitution would be added.

 

A letter had been received from the owners of Little Egret re the blocking of the footpath .After a lengthy discussion ..members were concerned at the blocking of thisand felt that the there was room for hardstanding for vehicles – it was was decided to write to the R.O.W. Officer at Co. Hall.

 

Other correspondence included The Wessex Ridgeway , new police officers , who would be invited to the next A.G.M.and correspondence re B.K.V.

 

Cheques signed at the meeting were £19.37. Long Ash Service Station . £8.0.0. Village Hall proposed by Mr.I.Tucker , seconded by Mr.C. Fowler , all in favour,

 

A.O.B.  Mr Blackmore –architect , explained the recent work of the church – that graves were found near the main doorway, therefore this could not have been the main entrance  as was previously thought. Concern was expressed re the Chalk Stream  as the Rev. K. Scott would be leaving  in June and also regarding the possible grouping of Churches.

 

With this the meeting adjourned  arranging to meet  on Feb 4th 2008.
