Apologies for absence were received from Mr C. Fowler.
1. The meeting proceeded with a democratic half hour. Items raised were; follow up re ice on the road in the winter months at East Street. A further letter would be written to Mr & Mrs Scrace.
2. It was noted that the surface of the road from Chapel Bridge to the water splash needed further attention, that the hedge needed cutting by Mrs Vivienes bridge, grass needed to be cut at Marrs Cross and other Cross roads, there were holes in the road near Lamperts Farmhouse. The clerk would write regarding these matters.
The Chairman explained that the Parish Council web site had been updated.
3. The clerk would write to the environment agency re advice on the prevention of flooding. The parish council were concerned at the present state of the river.

4. There were no declarations of interest. From the minutes;
5. Mr Downe had completed most of the tree work in the village. The chestnut tree in the village would be attended to later. The mobile home at the sewage works was being investigated.
6. The Parish Council then adopted the revised new code of conduct. This was proposed by Mr. C. Legg and seconded by Mrs T Davies and carried unanimously. Each member then signed the new Declaration of acceptance of Office.
7. The clerk then circulated the accounts from March ’06 to March ’07. These had been internally audited by Mr G Browne internal auditor, there were no problems.
The Chairman then read the annual governance statement in detail and this was agreed by the Parish Council. These were then signed by the Chairman and the Clerk. Proposed by Mr C. Legg, seconded by Mrs T Davies, all in favour.
The Parish Council would be opening a new play area account. Cheques would be signed by Mrs T Davies and Mrs L Percy all agreed. Mr Legg would ring the play area committee fund raising e.t.c. £167 had been raised by the balloon race.
Cheques signed at the meeting were Sydling Village Hall rent for meeting £34.00, Mr C. Fowler petrol for the mower £22.70, Mr G Browne auditor(internal) £60.00, Long Ash service Station £19.26 and G. Downe tree repairs £293.65 proposed by Mr C. Legg seconded by Mrs T Davies carried unanimously.
Mr I Tucker agreed to regularly inspect the play area and the village green.
Conservation matters; It was noted that the tree at Court Farm had been checked for safety.

Mrs Percy noted the dangerous barbed wire at the rear of the green Discussion would be held with the landowner, Viscount Fitzharris.
The stile by the drove needed repairing.
Warning signs were felt to be necessary on the road near Lampert cottage due to the extensive work on the building.
The clerk would write and ask for a further report re the census from Magna.
Mr Wareham reported the ringmaster system was working well.
