After a very long wait, SHARP’s Big Breakfast was back this year on 5th February. Due to Covid concerns it was decided that the location would be the village hall rather than the traditional gathering at Penny and Charles house. Prompted by the temporary closure of Sydling’s pub due to a Covid infection, locals gathered in the village hall for an impromptu pop-up “bring your own booze” pub. Sydling Jazz Evening in aid of the church funds. The talented jazz duo, Ian Millar (saxophone) and Dominic Spencer (piano) entertained us with a mixture of classics and delightful numbers composed by Ian himself. Due to Covid restrictions the 2021 Church Fete has been much reduced. The White Elephant, Girls Accessories and Book stalls only will take place inside or outside the village hall on 21st August between 10.00 – 12.00. Refreshments will be available.
The annual village hall quiz has been cancelled due to CV19 but the committee have decided to replace it temporarily with a series of virtual quizzes. Watch out for downloading details of the questions (and eventually answers) via the Village Hall website or the Informer network.
